Igor Starkov

about me

Born in 1980 in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg, Russia. Graduated from the Vocational School of Mechanics & Optics as a photographer in 2000, then worked for a photo lab of the State Russian Museum where I was mostly doing studio photography. From 2002 to 2004, I studied at the School of Photojournalism in St. Petersburg. In 2005, I joined the newly created Russian agency - Photographer.Ru. from 2007 to 2009 cooperated with austrian Anzenberger agency. At present is a freelance photographer.Worked in Belarus, Ukraine, Central Russia, Caucasus, Urals, Siberia, Central Asia. Participated in a number of exhibition and book projects. Publications include: Colors, Esquire, GQ, YO Dona, Afisha, Bolshoi Gorod, Wirtschafts Woche, Newsweek (usa, int, jp, rus), Le Monde, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Park Avenue, Expert, Ogoniok, etc
